One of the simple pleasures of living life rurally is access to fantastic local produce and few things are more local than Thornley Fresh Eggs!
Laid by free-range hens roaming happily across farms and gardens within Thornley Village, these eggs have quickly become a favourite with locals and visitors alike. They’re fresh, responsibly produced, and rooted firmly in the community.
Where to Find Thornley Farm Fresh Eggs
You can pick up Thornley Farm Fresh Eggs from two easy-to-find locations:
Binks Cottage - At the edge of the garden you’ll find an honesty box where eggs are available for purchase.
The junction heading towards the A68 from Thornley Village - Another honesty box location for those passing through or heading in or out of the village.
Both spots operate on trust, reflecting the strong community spirit that makes Thornley such a special place.
Fresh, Free-Range, and Fairly Priced
All eggs are laid by hens that are genuinely free range, living locally rather than large commercial units. This small-scale, local approach allows us to keep quality high while doing our best to keep prices as low as possible.
Because the eggs are so popular, there are times when we sell out. We always try to keep the honesty boxes topped up, but availability can vary - especially during busy periods. If you miss out one day, it’s always worth checking again soon.
A Special Treat for Binks Cottage Guests
If you’re staying at Binks Cottage, there’s an extra reason to look forward to your arrival. Guests receive Thornley Farm Fresh Eggs in their welcome package, so you can enjoy a proper local breakfast from the very first morning of your stay - straight from the hens of Thornley Village.
Supporting Local, Living Local
By choosing Thornley Farm Fresh Eggs (and Thornley honey when available) you’re supporting local, small-scale farming, and a village tradition built on trust. We’re delighted to share this small but meaningful part of village life. Thank you to everyone who has put our eggs on the map and supported us over the years.
