One of the things we love most about Thornley is its warm sense of community and the variety of events that take place right on our doorstep. If you’re staying with us this September, you’ll have the perfect opportunity to meet some locals, enjoy a great evening of entertainment, and even pick up a bargain or two. Here’s what’s coming up:
📚 An Evening with Ian Clayton – Saturday 13th September, 7.30pm
Join in at Thornley Village Hall for an unforgettable evening with Ian Clayton, a writer, storyteller, and broadcaster who has been entertaining audiences for over 30 years. Ian has written drama, magazine and news articles, books, and performance pieces. His best-known work, Bringing It All Back Home, became a bestselling music book.
Expect laughter, thought-provoking stories, and a thoroughly entertaining night.

☕ Macmillan Coffee Morning – Saturday 27th September, 10am–2pm
Pop into Thornley Village Hall and enjoy tea, coffee, and homemade treats, all while supporting a fantastic cause. The Macmillan Coffee Morning is a wonderful way to meet locals or friends and contribute to Macmillan Cancer Support. Guests are warmly welcome – it will be a relaxed, friendly event that will draw a great crowd.
🛍 Indoor Car Boot Sale – Saturday 27th September, 1pm–3pm
If you fancy a browse for hidden treasures, head over to the West Park Equestrian Centre in Tow Law for an indoor car boot sale. Entry is just £2.50, and you never know what unique finds you might come across.
